History of WtD

Working the Doors was founded in 2003, originally as a forum for Door Supervisors and the Security Industry. With over 4000 members on the forum, it was a place for advice, companionship, funny stories as well as a useful place to reach out and inform/engage with other Door Supervisors from many different backgrounds.

Working the Doors has always been recognised as the main UK ‘Door Supervision Organisation’ outside of the SIA and so has close links with Door Supervisors and Security Contractors/Companies, Informing Door Supervisors was, and is, integral to the success of the website along with advising the way in which the SIA considers its approach to door supervisors licensing and training.

The Original Forum was closed in October 2014, due to a change in direction for the website owners and web hosting issues, this meant all the old forum and threads were lost. As the old forum wasn’t recoverable it was a perfect opportunity to create something new.

The Future of Working the Doors will be shaped by the community. We will Aim to provide help and advice of all elements of the Industry, advice on dealing with workplace conflict and career improvement, generally putting companies and SIA licenced individuals together. It will also be a place of work and training, With jobs being posted all the time and our list of approved training courses and security suppliers we hope to be the first place you think of when you are in need.
