Three Security guards walking from Exmouth to Weymouth for military children charity

Two security guards at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park are walking from Weymouth to Exmouth to raise money for Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Security guards Darrell Cockett, Mike and Dan start walking from Devon Cliffs Holiday Park on Monday, (July 17), to the Littlesea Holiday Park in Weymouth over three days to raise money for the Exmouth-based charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

This will be a distance of approximately 61 miles across the South West Coastal Path to another Haven holiday park in Weymouth. As of today, they have already raised £365 from a target of £500 with 22 supporters on their JustGiving page.

Darrell, Mike and Dan all work as security guards at the Exmouth Holiday Park, Devon Cliffs at Sandy Bay in Exmouth.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved military children and young people. It was set inspired by the experience of Army widow Nikki Scott.

The charity honours husband Corporal Lee Scott’s memory – both as a loyal soldier and a loving father – and provides a practical yet personal way for the public at large to show their appreciation for those brave individuals who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers support children young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. A range of programmes are provided to support their bereavement needs, well-being, education and development.

Darrell Cockett told the Journal: “We are doing this to raise money and awareness for the Scottys Little Soldiers charity, a charity that provides support to bereaved British Forces children. Please support us.”
