Clubber who headbutted bouncer at Stirling nightclub admonished

The 24-year old pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting the man by punching him on the head and behaving in a disorderly manner at Fubar, and these had been accepted by the Crown.

Fiscal depute Lindsay Brooks told Stirling Sheriff Court that the incident had occurred in the early hours of the morning when Dick had been asked to leave the premises and refused. Dick then struck the security man on the face with his head and other members of staff removed him from the premises.

When cautioned and charged by police he had replied: “Not true”.

His agent Virgil Crawford told Sheriff Francis Gill that Dick had been under the influence of alcohol at the time – and no injuries were involved.

The lawyer said the farm worker, of Shotts, who lives with his partner and their young child, earned around £400 per week and was able to pay a fine if appropriate.

Sheriff Gill noted that Dick had been of good behaviour since the matter last called six months ago and he was admonished and dismissed.
