Police are investigating after a nightclub doorman was left seriously injured after an alleged assault in Penzance.
Officers are examining a report of a serious assault in the early hours of June 14 at a nightclub in Market Place, understood to be the Venue, which left the bouncer needing hospital treatment.
It is alleged the member of security staff was repeatedly assaulted by two men inside the club.
In a post on Facebook, it was claimed the victim suffered a dislocated shoulder, broken collarbone, fractured cheekbone, a split ear, and multiple blows to the head.
In a statement issued to the Packet, Devon and Cornwall Police said enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a report of a serious assault in Penzance in the early hours of 14 June.
“It was reported that a doorman at a licensed premises in Market Place was repeatedly assaulted by two suspects, leaving him with multiple injuries requiring hospital treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
