Touching tributes have been paid to a much-loved Bracknell doorman and father who passed away suddenly at the beginning of 2024.
Steve Whittaker – also known as Rhino – is known for his work at several of Bracknell and Ascot’s old hotspots including Frisco Jacks and Club One.
After suddenly passing away on January 18, his ex-partner Lucy and his 15-year-old daughter Mya have launched a GoFundMe to give Steve the ‘memorial that he deserves’.
The 54-year-old Bracknell man was also a keen businessman and owner of Rhino Security Services.
Lucy wrote on the GoFundMe: “He was a wonderful dad, brother, friend, colleague and who touched the lives of those around him far and wide.
“He leaves behind his beautiful daughter Mya, who was his world.”
Alongside donations which will be used to help cover funeral costs and a headstone, supporters have left condolences to the family.
One supporter said: “Sending lots of love to Lucy, Mya and all the family and friends of Steve. He will live on through you all .”
Another said: “Mya deserves to have somewhere beautiful to go and remember her Daddy.”
Lucy added: “We are all devastated by Steve’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service.
“We want to give Steve the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and somewhere for everyone friends and family to pay their respects.”
Supporters have so far raised over £2,000 to cover funeral costs.
