Security guard assaulted by teenage girl in Halesowen

A SECURITY guard was assaulted by a teenage girl in Halesowen after trouble broke out in the town at the weekend.

Police were called to the Cornbow Centre on Saturday (April 3) to reports of teenagers causing trouble.

There have been frequent reports of youngsters causing trouble in the town, around the shopping centre and the bus station.

Police have pledged to look into the issue of the anti-social behaviour.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said of Saturday’s incident: “We were called to the Cornbow Centre, Halesowen at 6pm on Saturday (3 April) following reports of a disorder.

“It’s understood a security guard was assaulted by a teenage girl, who kicked him after the group were refused entry.

“A number of teenagers were spoken to and our neighbourhood team are working to investigate the anti-social behaviour around the shopping centre.

“Anyone with information can contact us quoting crime reference number 20DY/95710Z/21.”

Cornbow Centre manager Eve O’Connor said the incident was being dealt with by police.
