A knifeman who threatened a store security guard with a knife was jailed at Plymouth Crown Court this week.
Aaron Williams was high on Spice and alcohol when he went with two other men to an Aldi store in Union Street, Plymouth, in June and stole a box of beer.
On Monday, June 16, Plymouth Crown Court heard the store manager and a security guard challenged Williams who punched the guard in the face breaking a tooth.
Outside the store in front of members of the public Williams, 20, produced the knife and threatened the guard with it.
The court was told Williams has a history of carrying knives and has been jailed twice before and claimed he had stabbed himself 12 times in the past.
The judge was told Williams had a limited recollection of the incident but had been egged on by the others in his group.
He admitted threatening a person with a blade, causing actual bodily harm, possessing a blade and shoplifting.
He was jailed for a total of two years and Judge Robert Linford said it was an extremely dangerous thing to do and a prolonged incident while intoxicated on Spice and alcohol.
