A man has been sent to prison after he assaulted a bouncer outside of a Lincolnshire venue, causing the victim to reportedly lose his hearing.
25-year-old Mohamed El-Haddad, of Boundary Street in Lincoln, threw two punches and was verbally abusive towards a member of security staff at a Lincoln venue, police say.
The incident took place at around 8.50pm on Friday, July 6. Officers were called to the scene and a spokesperson for the force said that the victim, who is in his 30s, suffered hearing loss for several hours after the incident.
El-Haddad was arrested in connection with the offence on the morning of Wednesday, July 12, following an investigation by police and the city council’s CCTV monitoring team.
He was charged with common assault and remanded to appear in custody at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 13, where he pleaded guilty.
As a result, a seven-week suspended sentence he had been handed for prior offences was revoked and he was sent to prison to serve that term.
He was sentenced to a further seven days custodial time for the common assault, which will run concurrently.
