Man admits to Door Staff he had £200 worth of ecstasy at Club in Glasgow

A young man admitted to club bouncers he had more than £200 worth of ecstasy at a Glasgow venue.

Bryce Topliss, 21, was at SWG3 in the city’s West End around 12.35am on October 27, last year, when security went up to him and asked if he had any substances.

He revealed that he had with him 23 ecstasy tablets, valued at £230.

The Ardrossan resident was arrested.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week, after he pleaded guilty to being in possession of the class-A substance with intent to supply.

Topliss’ lawyer said this was his first time carrying drugs, after a friend convinced him to do so.

He added: “There is remorse and understanding. He has no record and no outstanding matters.

“He is in full-time employment and he lives with his family, who are supportive of him. He demonstrated an understanding of how serious this matter is and he is anxious.”

Sheriff Colette Gallagher told Topliss: “This is a particularly serious matter.

“I’m glad to hear that you have been able to reflect on your actions and the possible consequences. You have taken steps and you are not using substances.”

He was tagged for 120 days, forcing him to stay indoors every day between 9pm and 7am.
