Tributes have been paid across Belfast to a highly respected doorman who passed away suddenly. Father-of-three Vince Rowe passed away on Friday, August 22, at his home in the company of his beloved family.
Bars across Belfast have paid tribute to Vince, who was a highly respected doorman and worked at a number of premises in the city over the years.
There has been an outpouring of grief in the wake of his death. Vince was described as a ‘gentleman’ who was admired at hospitality venues across Belfast and was ‘a friend to everyone who knew him’.
The Hatfield House paid tribute to Vince on social media, saying: “We are deeply heartbroken to hear of the passing of our dear friend Vince.
“Words cannot describe how incredible Vince was. He was an integral part of our Hatfield family. Always the happy smiling face that you walked past on the way in for your shift or in for a pint, normally cracking a joke on the way in. He truly was one of a kind.
“Vince was the calm in the chaos no matter the task it was always’, ‘Just another day at the office.’ Vince was wise beyond his years and always willing to lend an ear or give advice. Vince was not only just the best doorman in the country, but a friend. A friend to staff, a friend to patrons, a friend to passers by. A proper gentleman.
“We offer our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Jayne and all the family during this tough time.
“Heroes come and go, but legends live forever, and there is no bigger or better Hatfield legend than Vince
“Rest Easy Papi. Love from your Hatfield Family.”
The Fountain Lane also paid tribute to the doorman, saying he was admired across the hospitality scene in Belfast: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of our friend and colleague, Vince.
“Vince was not only a trusted head doorman across several of our venues, but also a familiar, friendly face to so many in Belfast over the years. He had that calm,
kind way about him that made the hard nights easier – someone who would always step in to help if you were stuck. Admired right across Belfast’s hospitality scene, he’ll be remembered by many.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to Vince’s family and friends at this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by all of us here at Clover.
“Rest easy, Vince – a true gentleman.”
The family and friends of Vince have been asked to call at Norman McBriar & Son’s funeral home on Wednesday, August 27, between 5 and 9pm, when the family will be in attendance. They have asked that their home remain private.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Vince’s family following his passing by his friend Stevie Armstrong.
It said: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend Vince Rowe, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 22nd.
Vince leaves behind his loving wife and children. He was not only an outstanding doorman but also a true friend to many of us.
