A bouncer was taken to hospital after being ‘glassed in the back of his head’ in a town centre attack. Emergency services were sent to
High Street, Newcastle, following the vicious assault outside Hogarths.
Paramedics treated him for ‘potentially serious injuries’ at the scene before he was rushed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The alarm was raised shortly before 10pm on Saturday (January 17). One
One StokeonTrentLive reader said: “A doorman was glassed in Newcastle. I helped him and got the emergency services involved.
The venue was closed shortly afterwards. Doctors attended the doorman, he was glassed in the back of the head. I went to assist with the incident and closing the venue.”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to an incident on High Street on Newcastle-under-Lyme at 9.43pm on Saturday.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and BASICS emergency doctor were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a man. He was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to hospital.”
