Mobile CCTV Unit

Just finished this on Friday with first deployment yesterday at Crusaders vs Linfield match. Camera is very high spec with 10 - 240mm lens which is effectively the biggest on the market. CCTV is in advance of PSNI CCTV Landrovers and we can wirelessly feed to Police or Event Control via 3G or VHF.

We will remove the head for long distance but otherwise no. We are moving into new office shortly which has a roller shutter door and space inside for vehicle so it will be inside at night. Will help with keeping equipment at ambient temperature etc.

looks like a nice unit, well done Andrew. We just finished a little project of similar kind but with slightly different purpose. At present we only use our mobile unit for operator training although we gave it a seperate website incase we look to rent it out in the future (money is money after all!) but for now we are happy playing with it ourselves!

It has 2 of the Ganz all views on the roof which lower flat when not in use (developed a fear of low branches and bridges) and it has 4 domes on the sides. Not the most pleasent vehicle to look at but it does the job.

Here you are chaps the Big God of 'Mobile CCTV', this is the ultimate system and was originally designed for the events industry, however its gets used for a hell of a lot of other operations (government & private). It can only be described as having a modern town centre system on wheels and in most cases better! It can deploy up to 24 high quality PTZ cameras to cover a 2km radius, all radio communications, satellite Phones, internet broadband, tracking systems for patrol teams, barrier controls, etc, etc. It has a dedicated area for the police with a huge monitor that the CCTV operators can patch incidents to for there viewing and a fully equipped wellfare area for the staff onboard, to which it has a normal working crew of 3, but can have 7 staff working inside without being cramped at all.

This unit allows operators to monitor and control all deployed cameras and monitor all parts of an event including highways leading to and from an event area (whereby ANPR System would be utilised). This inturn is a far better system compared to a transit van style CCTV UNIT which most can only monitor the area around them and has to be redeployed to follow the crowd so to speak, then you have to consider traffic movement within a large event, where to deploy to next, safety of the system and its operators, etc. Compare this to our system all the operator have to do is switch cameras and maybe cover all angle using 3 or 4 cameras, plus the unit is well secure and can be deployed away in a safe area.....


Oh yes and its for sale at around £85,000 + VAT

Sweet jesus thats a big brut of a thing. It would seem to much of a cost for a client for a set up like this.

Not having to have a go but in terms of the Medical Unit - don't ambulance / medical providers have their own? Maximum Security do not seem to provide Medical Services! You would need to be a HUGE Music Festival to justify cost of that Medical Unit. Arenas and Venues would have inbuilt so where is demand?

Putting my cynical hat on - Maximum don't even list any clients or pictures of them at events and one has to ask why they don't if they do events and want to prove it.....

Ok I'll try and answer all the above....

Firstly the company does do feel that th MCU gets used as much as it should, and to be trueful it does not cost the earth to hire. It has been used for Police ops, football matches, at outdoor events, car shows, etc, etc.

It is an awsome unit, but some people just look at it and think that would cost too much to hire, but those who do ask are quite suprised. Costs can get quite steep when customers are wanting huge amounts of specialist gear, such as remote Thermal Cameras, ANPR Systems, Barrier control and lots of extra cameras, however it is still very competive.....

In regards to the Medical Unit, the company initially wanted to just hire the facility out to various sources without staff. There were plans for a further unit to be built (Mobile Office), but this was shelved 2 years ago.......

The company is currently going trough some changes at the minute and possibly looking at building these types units for overseas companies and governments.....

The unit is next out on the 26th June at an Armed Forces Day providing Event Control, CCTV, Police Facilities and so on.

Like I mentioned on another forum, the unit gets used more for specialist deployments the in the events industry, personnally I think its a shame, because this unit can provide everything needed for a large events and more........

I have seen your news previously about a City Centre Safe Zone which is perfect given more money but organisers, as you say, wont pay for that level of kit.

Like I said, thats why it probably gets used more for Law Enforcement Deployments (which is why we can't add everything we do to our website). Anyhow go on give me an idea of how much you think it would cost for lets say a 48hours deployment period, with 2 operators per shift, and an additional redeployable mast with twin PTZ Domes, travel distance to contract of around 100miles? I am curious now to see what you come up so be honest!
