A man and woman have been arrested after a doorman was violently assaulted outside a hotel in a New Year’s Eve bust-up.
They said a man attacked a member of door staff at The Lowther Hotel, in Goole.
Posting on Twitter, they said: “A disappointing start to our New Year – we are looking for witnesses to a violent assault by a male on a member of door staff outside The Lowther Hotel in the early hours of the morning – please call 101 re log 31 01/01/18 if you can assist.”
But now police have confirmed two people have been arrested.
A spokeswoman said: “A man and woman remain in custody following an incident in Goole’s Aire Street at shortly before 12.40am today.
“We were called to reports of an altercation between the pair and door staff at the Lowther Hotel and are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident to get in touch. No one was seriously injured.
“A 24-year-old Goole woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of common assault and a 28-year-old Goole man on one count of common assault.”
